Palatine, Rathvilly, St. Andrews and Eire Óg all got off to a winning start as the minor football championship got underway in Carlow last night.
Eire Óg defeated Mount Leinster Rangers 4-15 to 1-4
Palatine had a big win over Fenagh 5-17 to 1-9
Rathvilly beat reigning champions Tinryland 2-11 to 3-6
while St. Andrews got the better of Michael Davitts 3-7 to 2-5
There was just one game in the ‘B’ championship
