Christian Collins is a Wicklow native and has been active on the Irish music scene for a few years but started his songwriting at the tender age of 14. By his own admission he was a fan of metal and started playing electric but a chance encounter with the music of Jeff Buckley was a turning point. He was drawn to that musical style and expression and it also brought him to other soulful songwriters such as Van Morrison. That said, his voice is all his own and as you’ll hear can melt and stir your heart in equal measure.
He releases his debut single “Sweet Divine” on October 9th (incidentally John Lennon’s birthday) at the Unitarian Church and promise to be a greet night of music and (hopefully) the next major step in his career.
This session was recorded very early in the morning and is a testament to the purity of his voice (and his songs).
