A local INTO representative says it remains to be seen whether Richard Bruton will be an effective Minister for Education.
Joe McKeown was speaking to KCLR following the protest by primary school teachers at Leinster House this week against pay disparity in their profession.
Teachers employed after 2011 earn 14% less than teachers employed before that because of emergency legislation brought in at the time.
Joe McKeown, who is also principal of De La Salle in Kilkenny says that Minister Bruton’s legacy will depend on how he deals with teacher’s needs.
