Hyundai is proving to be the most popular brand-choice for those buying a new car in Kilkenny this year.
2,000 new cars were registered in the county in the first half of this year according to myvehicle.ie.
The amount of new cars on the roads from January to June this year is up on last years figures by 23.1 per cent.
In Kilkenny, only 410 new cars had been sold at the start of 2015 compared to 2,000 this year.
The most popular brand locally was Hyundai which topped the table in 2016 with a total of 245 cars being bought.
Silver and grey, followed by black and white were the favoured colours with Hatchback the most popular type of vehicle.
The most popular car was the Toyota Yaris followed by the Ford Fiesta, Renault Clio, Htundai i20 and Opel Corsa.
The Hyundai Tucson came out on top for the Diesel cars.
