Pregnant women warned not to travel to Florida because of Zika virus

If you’re pregnant and you have a summer break planned for Florida, you may want to change your plans.

Irish pregnant women are being warned not to travel to parts of Florida because new cases of Zika have been discovered.

The virus has been spreading locally among mosquitoes in a small area of Miami.

It can lead to birth defects if women are infected during pregnancy.

Until now the virus had been mostly restricted to Latin America and the Caribbean.
