Folk/Roots: Interview – Anna Mullarkey of My Fellow Sponges (19/4/2016)

Anna Mullarkey is one of the main songwriters with “My Fellow Sponges”, a Galway-based band that are making a name for themselves, not least for their lack of labels. They come to the songwriting table with varied influences, ranging from folk, minimalism through trip hop, and their theatre background makes for a collaborative approach to songcraft. Their latest EP “Something Like Light” displays a playfulness and still a depth that’e been impressing people at every turn.

They play Brewery Corner on april 22nd, with support from Emlyn Holden (of Kilkenny band “The Southern Fold”) and the intriguingly titled “Dr. Mindflip”
