Travelling
Carlow and Kilkenny are served by the same railway line which links them to the Irish capital city of Dublin and also to Waterford. Irish Rail is providing free travel to those arriving in Dublin to a host family/accommodation in other parts of Ireland. Availing of this can be arranged at Heuston Station by phone via 01 8366222.
There are a number of bus companies that service both counties. Including Bus Eireann and JJ Kavanagh & Sons.
TFI Local Link has routes in Carlow, Kilkenny and Wicklow while if your travel is in Kilkenny city you can avail of options from City Direct.

The Drum Youth Center (Drum) for teenagers aged 12 to 18 is located near the McDonagh Shopping Centre. It is a place for meetings and communication, where young people can also play musical instruments, attend educational classes of interest, get health advice, and more. There are computers for games. In the kitchen you can drink tea and eat (something you bring with yourselves). Communication is in English. Below is the schedule of classes (paid, but inexpensive) by age group for the week.
