The money advice and budgeting service in Kilkenny says 1 in 5 homes are struggling to pay their electricity and energy bills.

A survey published this week found that 20 per cent of Irish people are struggling with the bills and that Ireland is ranked 4th expensive in Europe when it comes to prices.

Michael Saunders from MABS Kilkenny says its reflected in what he’s seeing coming through his doors and the solutions being offered by providers are also expensive.
