10 new Gardai for Kilkenny

Kilkenny is getting 10 new Gardai as part of a reform of policing strategies in the city.

Members of the Joint policing committee were briefed on the new community policing plan at a meeting this week.

Chairman of the Committee, Councillor Pat McKee says they’re hopeful the effects will also be felt in the more rural areas of the county.
