A local suicide prevention initiative has reached a landmark number in its efforts to help people.
Taxi Watch Kilkenny this week saved their 100th person in the city.
Taxi Watch was established as a suicide prevention measure by a group of drivers headed by Derek Devoy in Kilkenny in November 2014.
In the past year many other counties have followed their example and formed their own branches of the initiative.
Locally, they’ve also formed an alliance with Teach Tom which offers counselling for those affected by suicide and depression.
Speaking to KCLR, Derek says their intervention really does help bring people back from the brink.
Now operating in Ennis, Waterford and Clonmel alongside Kilkenny, the group have released the following video recently detailing the background to Taxi Watch.
