There’s some very good news on the jobs front for Carlow this morning.
Merck Sharpe & Dohme has announced 200 new roles across 3 of its Irish plants and Carlow is getting the lions share of them with 110 jobs for the county.
The Carlow site is the pharmaceutical giants only standalone vaccine and biologics facility outside the US and the company is seeking production, engineering and quality control staff for the local plant.
Recruitment for the new roles is already underway and the jobs will be filled by the end of the year.
The company already employs more than 2,000 people in its five sites in Carlow, Tipperary, Wicklow, Cork and Dublin.
