120 Gardaí out in force as Operation Thor gets underway in Carlow

Six people have been arrested so far today in Carlow.

Operation Thor is taking place in Carlow Town and the surrounds with 120 Gardaí involved in targeted searches and checkpoints.

This is the third Garda operation of its kind in that area over the last 18 months.

Superintendent Gerry Redmond told KCLR Live today that a number of those arrested have already been charged with more arrests expected to be made.

A number of the arrests were for sexually based offences.
