It’s official – 15 candidates will be looking for your vote on Friday February 26th.
Nominations closed at noon today and all of the men and women in Carlow and Kilkenny hoping to win a seat in the 32nd Dail got their papers lodged with the returning officer ahead of the deadline.
It means that on your ballot paper there will be 3 Independent candidates and 3 each from Fianna Fail and Fine Gael. Labour, Sinn Fein, the Greens and Renua each have 1 as do the Anti Austerity Alliance and People Before Profit.
That is unless any of them change their minds before midday tomorrow. They have until then to withdraw from the race.
Some of the candidates took to social media in recent days to mark the moment they had submitted their official papers.
