17 Men’s sheds in Kilkenny and Carlow have benefited from grants to help with their running costs.
14 of the facilities in Kilkenny, including Thomastown Men’s Shed, O’Loughlin Gaels Working Group, and Bennettsbridge Men’s Shed, got help covering things like electricity, heating, and insurance.
Three Carlow sheds—Borris, Carlow, and Tullow—also benefited, with a maximum amount of up to €3,000 available.
Carlow-Kilkenny TD John McGuinness says there could be more in the pipeline.
“And that money was used for the ongoing costs associated with men’s sheds. So I’ve been informed by the Minister, Dara Calleary, that further monies will be made available based on that particular allocation. And I’d be asking Dara Calleary to ensure that the maximum grants are available in both Carlow and Kilkenny.” said Deputy McGuinness.
