2 arrested after false imprisonment of Irish Rail security worker

2 men have been arrested in connection with the assault and false imprisonment of an Irish Rail worker in Mountrath.

The incident happened on December 5th at an Irish rail compound in the Kilbricken area at around 5am as the victim who was a member of security staff arrived for work.

He was approached by a number of men who assaulted him and locked him into his car boot before escaping.

Gardai arrested two men on Wednesday and both are still being detained at Portlaoise Garda station.
