2 horse race in Fine Gael for by-election candidacy but former Mayor is in it to win it

It’s come down to a 2 horse race for the Fine Gael candidacy for the upcoming by-election.

Senator Pat O’ Neill has bowed out leaving Kilkenny Councillor David Fitzgerald and Former IFA President John Bryan to battle it out for votes at convention on March 5th.

Senator O Neill says he felt the time wasnt right for him but he will fully support whoever gets picked.

Meanwhile David Fitzgerald says he wont be part of the selection process just to make up numbers.

The former Mayor of Kilkenny says he is in it to win it.
