Two Kilkenny primary schools targeted by raiders in the space of an hour

Gardaí investigating break-ins at two local primary schools last night say a stolen CCTV hardrive has now been recovered.

KCLR reported earlier this morning that the primary schools in Cuffesgrange and Danesfort had both been broken into and ransacked.

The harddrive for the security cameras in Cuffesgrange had been taken but it has now been found by a KCLR listener after it was thrown into a field in Kilmanagh.

Its footage is being examined.

Meanwhile, Gardaí say they now believe someone went to Cuffesgrange school shortly after last night’s burglary at about 10.45 as they were seen shining a torch around it.

They say they’re anxious to speak to this person as they may have witnessed what happened.

St Michaels national school in Danesfort was hit first at around 10.20pm – the main office was ransacked and the alarm activated there.
