2 men killed as lorry crashes near Clonmel

Two men have been killed in a crash between Clonmel and Kilsheelan.

Gardai say a lorry went out of control on a road off the N24 east of Clonmel town at around 9 o’clock this morning.

The vehicle’s driver and a passenger, who are both believed to have been in their fifties, died in the collision – no-one else was injured.

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene and one man was taken to Waterford Regional hospital where he later died.

A second man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road’s been closed for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
