2025 was the second warmest year on record in Ireland.
Met Éireann says the past four years have been the warmest since records began in 1900.
The average air temperature last year was just over 11 degrees Celsius, which is 1.5 degrees warmer than the long-term average recorded in the 30 years from the 1960s to the 1980s.
Storm Éowyn last January broughtthe highest wind speeds ever recorded,with a gust of 184 km an hour at Mace Head in Galway.
