21 new homes in Carlow & Kilkenny with €3.3million granted for social housing
21 brand new homes are to be built for social housing in Carlow & Kilkenny.
Minister Jan O Sullivan revealed this morning that more than 3.3million euro has been allocated for the homes to be built in Kilkenny city, Carlow Town and in Borris.
There will be 10 built on the Gaol Road in Kilkenny at a total cost of 1.5 million euro while 6 in Borris and 5 on Maryborough Street in Carlow Town will cost 1.8 million between them.
It follows yesterdays announcement by the Minister of 15 million euro in funding to develop vacant housing around the country.
Labour Deputy Ann Phelan says it will be very welcome for both local authorities with demand for social housing high.
