More than 30 free events happening in Carlow & Kilkenny as Culture Night gets underway

18 free events will be taking place in Carlow today and 14 in Kilkenny as part of this year’s Culture Night.
The initiative sees cultural venues all over the country throw open their doors free of charge for one night only to host events.
Among the highlights in Kilkenny are the launch of the first ever Kilkenny International Literary Festival at Rothe House from 6 o’clock.
The same venue will also be playing host to a traditional Irish music session courtesy of the local Comhaltas branch from 8.
The Festival of Fashion and Light will be getting underway at 5 o’clock in the National Design and Craft Gallery, while there’ll be some traditional storytelling with Len Graham in the City Library from half past 3.
Meanwhile, in Carlow, you can get a free guided tour of the museum at 4 o’clock, and just before that a multicultural celebration has been organised for the Family Resource Centre in Tullow at 3.
Later on then 20 years of the Aspiro Choir is going to be marked with a special performance in the Visual in Carlow at 8 o’clock.
The night is finishing up with a performance by Dublin Circus Project at Carlow College from 9pm, and will feature a choreographed fire spectacle, with fire hoops, fire skipping and lots more.
