Tonight’s interviews are returns to edited ones I broadcast earlier this year.
Electric Penguins
First up, a band described by Hot Press as:
Bonded by influences from Kraftwerk to David Lynch movies to walking through Autumnal London and much besides Electric Penguins formed amidst a mutual love of vintage instruments, prog-rock and 70’s electro legends. They create music which is ambient, cinematic, folksy, electro and rich in conceptual depth.
Electric Penguins are Mark Cummins and Paul Murphy and they released their debut, “Goodbye from the Electric Penguins”, in October 2006. Their second album was released in 2010, called simply “II”, II, and contained one of my favourite tracks of all time “Highgate Hill”. Fast forward to 2025 (!) and their third album “The Way Lights a Fire, Pt.1”, so their sense of humour is still intact.
Needless to say, I could only ask one question to start…
