Kilkenny County Council says that new rules about having a third waste bin could work out cheaper for people.
The household food regulations have already been put in place in Kilkenny City but from next month will also be rolled out in the Thomastown, Callan and Graiguenamanagh areas.
You’ll then have to separate food waste from the rest of the refuse and dispose of it in a completely separate bin.
However, speaking to KCLR, Environmental Awareness Officer, Bernadette Moloney says it could end up being less expensive.
