4 year old girl recovering in hospital following incident in John Sweeney Park yesterday

Gardai say a 4 year old girl is still recovering in hospital following an incident at a Carlow housing estate yesterday morning.

She’s said to be stable – the youngster was taken to St Lukes hospital after an incident involving a car and a truck in John Sweeney Park.

11 people under the age of 16 have already been killed on our roads this year including a six year-old boy in Lintown Grove in Kilkenny last month.

This latest incident has prompted an appeal from Declan Keogh of the Local Authority Road Safety Officers group.
