Excitement is building locally as 50 athletes prepare to represent Carlow, Kilkenny and Leinster at the Special Olympic games this weekend.

 

They will leave for Limerick in the morning – the opening ceremony is tomorrow and the games get underway on Friday until Sunday.

 

Athletes will take part in a range of events including swimming, basketball, bocce and bowling.
