President of Carlow’s Chamber says the loss of SuperValu will hit the town hard

The loss of over 50 jobs will hit a town like Carlow especially hard.

President of Carlow Chamber of Commerce, Derek Shannon, was speaking after yesterday’s announcement that SuperValu on Kennedy Avenue will close in January.

52 workers are set to lose their jobs with the closure.

Speaking to KCLR, Mr Shannon says it comes at a particularly difficult time of year in the approach to Christmas.
