Questions are being raised over response times locally by the ambulance service.
Its after a woman told KCLR she had to wait over an hour for an ambulance to attend her mother when she collapsed in a restaurant in Kilkenny city on Sunday night.
The HSE has responded to reports of the incident confirming a call was received just before 10 to 8 that evening but as all local emergency ambulance resources were attending other calls at the time the first available resource was dispatched from Athy to the scene arriving at 5 to 9.
This morning another KCLR Live listener in Kilkenny recalled almost a 2 hour wait in Kilkenny when her daughter collapsed after Christmas.
Deirdre says she was told first the ambulance was coming from Waterford but instead it came from Clonmel.
