The sod is being turned today on the New Ross Bypass.
Its understood work will start straight away on the project which is a collaboration between Kilkenny and Wexford county councils
Contracts for the 230 million euro scheme were signed last week.
Ministers Ann Phelan & Brendan Howlin were there for the event earlier.
