The M9 motorway was closed for over five hours today (Thursday) following a serious crash on the M9 in Carlow.
Emergency services say that the two HGVs collided before 11am just north of Tinryland.

It has been confirmed that the two drivers were not seriously injured in the crash.
The motorway was closed northbound from Junction 5 Tinryland to Junction 4 Castledermot with all traffic being diverted through Carlow town.

One of the southbound lanes also had to be closed but the motorway reopened to traffic shortly after 4pm.
