Bethany House reveals recent revamp to gathered crowd of about 100 people.
The premises is an Alzheimer Society of Ireland day care centre which three days a week caters for approx 10 people each day in the heart of Carlow town.
Set up on Barrack Street for close to a decade, it’s recently had an upgrade.
But at its core it’s still the same – a group of staff and volunteers who together go over and beyond to help those who avail of the service.
Attendees can enjoy a cuppa, or have their hair done or spend some time in the garden.
KCLR News’ Edwina Grace was at the event and spoke to some of those present – including Minister of State with responsibility for Older People and Mental Health, Mary Butler, who spoke of an HSE event she’d been to in Waterford earlier in the day as well as her visit to Carlow – hear that in full here;
