Yet another former Kilkenny College student is bound for the Olympic Games.
We revealed last month how Jeremy Duncan and Lisa Jacobs have roles to play with the Irish Men’s Hockey Team.
Now it seems Megan Armitage from Offaly, who graduated from the local boarding school, has been selected by Cycling Ireland to compete.
It follows her disappointment at being ruled out of the Tour de France due to injury.
Ireland’s first female Olympian, Urlingford woman Maeve Kyle who competed in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics as well as in Rome (1960) and Tokyo (1964) in which she got to the semi-finals 400m and 800m , had also attended Kilkenny College.
