A recent survey by HR firm Robert Walters has revealed that two-thirds of managers are keen to offer pay rises to their staff this year, but almost half are grappling with tight budgets, making wage increases challenging.
The survey also found that nearly 50% of managers feel that year-end bonuses are “unlikely” due to financial constraints. Despite this, workers remain hopeful, with around 60% expecting a pay rise in 2025 and 40% believing they are in line for a bonus.
In addition, the survey highlights a growing trend of employee dissatisfaction, with nearly two-thirds of workers indicating they are actively seeking new job opportunities in the coming year, driven by the desire for better compensation and career prospects.
The results reflect a tense climate for both employers and employees as businesses face budget pressures while workers seek better financial rewards and job security.
