Kilkenny suffered a six-point defeat to Tipperary in Round 2 of the Division 1A Very National Camogie League, falling 1-8 to 0-17 at The Ragg on Saturday.

Speaking to KCLR Sport after the game, Kilkenny manager Tommy Shefflin reflected on his side’s loss, highlighting another below-par second-half display, echoing last week’s performance against Galway.
“Not scoring for 18 minutes in the second half, that’s not good enough either. That put us under huge pressure then at the end when we were trying to close that gap.”
The Kilkenny manager acknowledged the strength of Tipperary’s performance but emphasized his team’s need to show more fight as they look to bounce back in future matches.
“We probably thought we’d do better coming up here, but Tipp were the better team. Probably what’s most disappointing is that they wanted it more than we did. We spoke to the girls about it that we have to show a bit of fight.”
As Kilkenny prepares for next week’s clash with Cork, Tommy Shefflin is focused on making improvements and ensuring his side is ready.
“We’ll take it week-by-week. We’ll look back at the video of the match and see what we can do during the week to improve things and go down to Cork. We’re hoping that the girls will come out and show a bit of fight.”
