Denis O’Brien says he “holds no malice” towards DJ Carey and says he has “huge sympathy” for him.
The business man was defrauded of around €135,000 over an eight year period by the five time All Ireland hurler.
O’Brien was speaking at the inaugural Club Carlow Business Summit and made the comments during a doorstop after the event, according to today’s Irish Independent.
DJ Carey was jailed for 5 and a half years after he pleaded guilty to 10 counts of defrauding a number of people out of money while pretending he had cancer.
