A contractor has been engaged to demolish two buildings in Carlow town.
Both were hit by fire in 2008 and have been vacant since – a week ago hoarding was erected by the local authority with traffic restrictions take effect around the Shamrock Square area due to safety concerns.

Now it seems the owner has been in touch and is making moves to have them dealt with.
The council continues to monitor the situation closely and expects action to be taken by next Wednesday (26th Nov).
