Gardai in Kilkenny warn retailers about a credit card scam

With Black Friday and Christmas on the way, Gardaí in Kilkenny are reminding retailers to be wary.

It’s as some have been stung by scammers using stolen credit or bank cards to buy items which they then sell on themselves.

Sargent PJ Griffin outlines what happened after his team had a call from a local outlet in Kilkenny.

“They had received an order from an individual, they ordered perfume cosmetics and transferred at the credit card that they were using was actually stolen.”

“Within minutes, this individual or other individuals arrived into the store looking to collect items.  They fled, and Gardai captured them.”
