At least one local person was among those injured in a weekend crash in northern Sweden.
KCLR News understands a young woman from Kilkenny was on a bus carrying exchange students from several countries which overturned on the E45 between Storuman and Vilhelmina on Saturday morning (22nd November).
The Sweden Herald reports that the incident resulted in ten people being taken to hospital by ambulance with another 26 ‘slightly injured’. (Article here).
It’s believed the Kilkenny woman sustained minor injuries but another Irish citizen was among those taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has told KCLR News that they’re aware of this case and are providing consular assistance.
They add “As with all cases, the Department does not comment on the specific details of individual cases”.
