Students from Kilkenny schools are set to showcase their mini companies at special Christmas markets.
Beginning today (2nd Dec) these run Tuesdays and Thursdays this & next week from 12noon at MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre in the city.
The participants of the Student Enterprise Programme are backed by the Local Enterprise Office in Kilkenny County Council, offering the young entrepreneurs a chance to sell their products and services in a real-world experience which will be the culmination of a lot of hard work since September.
Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council Cllr. Mary Hilda Cavanagh said, “Supporting the next generation of small business owners is essential for the growth and success of our community, and I am grateful to the team at MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre for their continued support of this initiative.”
“The Student Enterprise Programme is a great opportunity for young people in our community to learn about entrepreneurship and gain valuable real-world experience. I am proud to see so many talented and ambitious students from our schools participating in this programme and showcasing their skills.” commented Aileen McGrath, Head of Enterprise, Local Enterprise Office, Kilkenny County Council. Ms. McGrath added, “We encourage members of the community to come out and support these inspiring young people by visiting their stalls at the Student Enterprise Christmas Markets in MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre”.
