Kilkenny mum-to-be wins €40,000 on a scratch card

A woman from Kilkenny has claimed a €40,000 top prize after scratching a winning Bingo 90 card bought in Thomastown.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Centra on Ladywell Street.

The woman, who is expecting her first baby, was shocked when she was handed a slip instructing her to contact the National Lottery, after asking a shop assistant to check her ticket.

She says she’s looking forward to celebrating with family and plans to use the money to prepare for her new arrival and carry out some home renovations.
