The Gowran School Transport Group will issue a letter to both the Ministers for Education and Public Expenditure today to seek a meeting with Bus Eireann about the need to restore a third Bus Eireann service for secondary school children in their area.

Over 50 people attended a meeting in Gowran Parish Hall last night, including Oireachtas members and County Councillors, in the latest attempt to remedy a years-old deficit which was temporarily addressed in 2024.

KCLR News’ Dermot Keyes was there and among those he spoke to was group Chairperson, Brendan Hayes who outlined some of the consequences arising from the deficit in local school transport. (He previously met with some of those involved – more on that here).
Hear that here;
Meanwhile, Bus Éireann has been contacted for comment and says it’s working on a response.
