Ireland are preparing for a huge night this Thursday as they face Czechia in a World Cup play-off semi-final.
The squad were back on the training pitch yesterday, with no new injury concerns for manager Heimir Hallgrímsson — a timely boost ahead of such a high-stakes encounter.
Captain Nathan Collins says there is a strong sense of belief and excitement within the group as they prepare for the challenge, while remaining fully aware of what lies ahead.
“There is a belief, there is a strong motivation, there is an excitement. We all realise there is a chance we can do something. I don’t think anyone thinks it’s done or that we are already there.
We know how hard the game in front of us is and we know how tough it’s going to be.”
The squad are set to travel to Prague later today as final preparations continue.
Meanwhile, KCLR will be on the road for the occasion, with The Home Run broadcasting live from The Exchange this Thursday from 4pm to 7pm.
There will be plenty of build-up ahead of kick-off, including a penalty shootout game with prizes to be won, as well as live reaction and analysis ahead of one of Ireland’s biggest matches in recent years.
Listeners and supporters are encouraged to head along to The Exchange at Carlow’s Potato Market to be part of the atmosphere.
