“It’s not a place you want your family to be in” says Kilkenny resident whose husband’s in Lebanon

As Lebanon continues to come under fire, people from the area who are living in Kilkenny have been outlining the horrors unfolding.

Three peacekeepers have been killed in the region this week alone – the Irish Defence Forces has moved to allay fears for them.

But the Zabads who are from the region have lost 14 members of their extended family in the past 18 months, including in the last few days a cousin who was driving an ambulance which was hit.

Added to that Ghadir’s husband is still in the war-torn region.
