Some Kilkenny city traders are calling on the county council to review and temporarily suspend commercial rates for properties affected by roadworks.

Construction on St Kieran Street which began in early January is expected to continue for at least nine months.

Those on the stretch say ‘The negative impact on our businesses has been severe, sustained, and unavoidable”.

KCLR News has reached out to the local authority for comment.
