Gardaí say investigations are ongoing into an incident at a Waterford city home which has left a woman dead.
Aged in her forties, she was taken to University Hospital Waterford by emergency services personnel who were called to the scene at Grange Heights just after 6pm last evening (Monday, 27th April) – she was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The State Pathologist has been notified and a post-mortem will take place.
A man, also aged in his forties, was arrested at the scene and taken to a Garda station in the Waterford Division under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The scene was preserved for technical examination.
