The upgrade of Tullow’s wastewater network has been hailed as a way to allow the town to grow.
The €17 million project has delivered major environmental improvements ensuring untreated local wastewater no longer enters the River Slaney.
The works included the installation of one point eight kilometres of new pipeline to improve performance and supporting an increase in population up to 9,200.
A new terminal pumping station and storm water tank were also constructed.
