Kilkenny will discover their opponents for the Leinster U20 Hurling Championship semi-final later today after quarter-final victory over Offaly.
Henry Shefflin’s side were comfortable 5–23 to 1–10 winners at UPMC Nowlan Park yesterday to book their place in the last four.
Kilkenny will now face either Dublin or Galway in the semi-final, which is scheduled for Wednesday week.
Despite the comfortable margin of victory, Shefflin admitted there are still areas his side must improve on ahead of a tougher test.
“I think we were fairly proficient in the first half, not so in the second half, so there’s a lot of work to do.
That doesn’t reflect what’s coming next.
We either play Dublin or Galway, and if we play like we played in some of those periods in the second half, we’ll be absolutely on the receiving end of a big beating.”
There was also injury news for Kilkenny following the game, with Shefflin confirming that Colm Treacy of Thomastown will miss the remainder of the campaign with a knee injury.
However, there was better news regarding Sean Bergin and Rory Garrett, who could return in time for the semi-final.
Elsewhere in the competition, Wexford also progressed comfortably after a 5–16 to 0–10 win over Laois.
