Co-ordinating local systems which can identify and support older people during emergencies is being discussed at the Annual Age Friendly Ireland Convention, which concludes in Athlone today.
Meath County Council hosts Age Friendly Ireland’s Shared Service on behalf of the country’s 31 local authorities, including Carlow’s and Kilkenny’s.
Attendees have been hearing of the importance in people joining their local Age Friendly grouping (More here).
Chief Executive of the hosting county’s local authority, Laois native Kieran Kehoe, told KCLR News’ Dermot Keyes that the Council takes on board the concerns of the State’s older citizens and then seeks to address the most pressing of these matters;
