Nobody injured but many affected by devastating fire in Waterford city

There’s devastation in Waterford city following Saturday night’s major fire.

It’s not yet known what caused the incident at the former Jute Factory site at Tycor.

Flames could be seen rising by those sitting in Walsh Park (including our own Dermot Keyes) where the county side was up against Cork – as that battle raged on the pitch, about 50 firefighters were trying to bring the nearby blaze under control.

No-one was injured in the fire but a range of local business premises were damaged.
