New 4-storey hostel approved for Kilkenny City

A new four-storey hostel has been given the go ahead at Pennyfeather Lane in Kilkenny City.

The city centre project will see the demolition of a vacant single-storey building and the construction of a hostel with 13 bedrooms, reception facilities and a roof-level plant room.

The site is located within the Patrick Street Architectural Conservation Area, and is intended to enhance tourism and provide more affordable accommodation in Kilkenny City.

Kilkenny County Council has given the development the green light but is subject to 15 planning conditions.
