Kilkenny Garda Detective Unit key in arrests and seizures in multi-agency cross-border operation targeting online fraud

Gardaí attached to Kilkenny Detective Unit were key in a multi-agency cross border operation targeting online fraud.

They searched a number of properties in Donegal, Longford, and Louth during which £174,000 (sterling) with €7000, a vehicle and a number of items of evidential value were seized.

Two men aged in their thirties and sixties were arrested in connection with the investigation and detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at a Garda Station in Co. Kilkenny.

Three more men aged in their forties and sixties, with a woman in her thirties, were subsequently arrested in Cookstown, Co Tyrone.

Investigations are ongoing.
